MCJROTC – Cadet Tania Martinez at Fall Brook High School on February 13, 2024 and Cadet Corporal Abraham Solorio at Oceanside High School on May 14, 2024.
NJROTC – Cadet Petty Officer Second Class Layla Hutchins at Point Loma High School on May 23, 2024, Cadet Ensign Sierra McCowin at Ramona High School on June 2, 2024, and Cadet Petty Officer Third Class Peter Ruocco at Westview High School on June 3, 2024.

Youth Program’s Chairman Shane Steinfeld revitalized the Council’s Youth Programs after a two year hiates. Upon assuming the role, he immediately established his commttee team and connected with the Sea Cadet Corps Commanding Officer and the NJROTC and MCJROTC Senior Instructors at five local high schools in the community to coordinate the presentation of the Youth Medal Awards. Most recently presenting the award to the Sea Cadet Corps Michael Monsoor Battlation Commanding Officer LCDR Valencia Jones at June’s Breakfast Event and for NJROTC Cadet PO3 Rayan Matin at Westview High School on June 6th and NJROTC PO3 Ana Lice Cipriano, Pt.Loma High School on base at MCRD on June 7th. Council Homecoming & Field Operations Chairman Jay Rindler, SHC, USN(Ret) presented the Youth Medal Award to Cadet Private First Class Makenzie R. Clearwater, Marine Corps Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps at Oceanside High School on May 26.
San Diego Council’s United StatesYouth Medal Awards Winners San Diego Council President Ed Naranjo presented the Youth Medal Award to Cadet Petty Officer Third Class Lina Vo, Sea Cadet Corps attached to Chief MCM 14 Division at Naval Base San Diego on May 7th and Sea Service Chair Marty Magana presented the Youth Medal Award to Cadet Chief Petty Officer Armando De Los Cabos, Navy Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps at Ramona High School on May 21st. Council Member Jeff Weston, CAPT, USN(Ret) presented the Youth Medal Award to Cadet Leslie Castaneda, Marine Corps Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps at Fall Brook Union High School on May 21.
